The reason is that Service Pack 1 will upgrade the User Profile to a higher version. It is not possible to open a Dragon NaturallySpeaking User Profile that was created or updated in Service Pack 1, in version 10.0. ****** Error E_FAIL when opening a SP1 user in 10.0 ******
When installing the service pack, a drop down to select language will appear. To un-install the Service Pack, Dragon NaturallySpeaking will need to be un-installed. 
The Service Pack cannot be un-installed. If Dragon NaturallySpeaking is un-installed after installing the Service Pack and then re-installed, the Service Pack will need to be re-installed. Dragon NaturallySpeaking installation is modified or repaired. Dragon NaturallySpeaking is upgraded within version 10.0. After applying the Service Pack, the Service Pack will need to be re-installed if:. Modify or repair the installation (Example: install a new vocabulary). Upgrade editions within version 10.0 (Example: v10.0 Standard to v10.0 Professional).
